Tile
We
offer a wide range of ceramic, porcelain, and natural
stone tiles.
Ceramic Tile
A mixture of clays which have been shaped and fired at high temperatures resulting in a hard body. This hard body may then be left untreated or it may receive a glazed layer.
Porcelain Tile
Porcelain is made with a special clay, molded under pressure, and fired longer and at a higher temperature than "normal" ceramic tile, making it harder. Many porcelain tile are not glazed - the color goes all the way through (but can be glazed). A through color means it can be cut and shaped and still look good. Most porcelain's are so hard, that they absorb very little moisture. This makes them better suited to outdoors installations in freeze/thaw cycles
Natural Stone Tile
Tiles made of granite, marble, travertine, limestone or slate.
Countertops
We
offer countertops made from Granite, Marble, Travertines,
and Slate.
Granite
Granite is an excellent choice for countertops for many reasons. It is extremely scratch resistant. Hot plates can be placed directly on the surface. Granite is available in a variety of colors and finishes. It is virtually impervious to acidic food such as lemon juice. While granite may be a little more expensive than some other materials, its longevity and beauty give it value and aesthetic appeal.
Marble
Marble is a popular choice for vanity tops due to its warm, soft nature. Like granite, it looks beautiful and adds considerable value to the home. It too comes in a wide variety of colors with beautiful contrasting veins and shades that give it a stunning quality. In many new homes, marble is being used on bathroom floors and shower walls lending an air of elegance to the entire home.
Travertines
Travertines are natural materials formed millions of years ago under water. Generally speaking, these materials are somewhat softer than granite and marble, but are very durable nonetheless. Travertines are perhaps the most diverse of all stones due to their wide range of application, from elegance to the "old world look" that is becoming very popular in upscale homes. Travertine is being used in every room of the home as well as outside patio's, pool decks, and even cladding on the house.
Slate
Slate is also an excellent countertop material but is not available in a polished finish. For this reason, it is primarily used where rustic look is desired. It is a rugged looking natural stone that is only found in shades of gray, black, green and red.
